Being Outside with Nature

Bush Kinder

Connection To Country

Connection to Country happens three days a week at Learning Avenues for our Preschool Learners. Our highly passionate and trained forest school educators invite 10 curious children to join them in an adventure, exploring nature in a different way.

An important part of childhood is being outside in nature

At Learning Avenues, we believe childhood is precious and we acknowledge that an important part of childhood is being outside in nature. We know that children are natural learners who embrace every opportunity to explore. We recognise that children need more unstructured time outside and this knowledge is supported by research. We view our connection to Country explorations as an extension of our learning communities.

The unique experience of Bush Kindy provides uninterrupted time in a rich natural environment that is ideal for children. When children engage in this type of play in peer groups, they experience opportunities for play that are not always seen when playing within the service learning environments. Children become curious of their environments, sparking deep thinking opportunities that later allow them to transfer their thinking from one setting to another.
